Indeed and Actually

In the midst of our change to a '2.4' family, Elle continues to make me laugh.

She has mastered the correct use of 'Indeed' and 'Actually' and particularly likes to correct us, actually...

She also continues to come out with great lines like...

(Having just got in to the car and as the CD we were listening to came on...)

Eva started to cry and Elle said "I don't think she likes this one!"

Out of the mouths of babes!

It's a Girl!

I have another daughter!

Her name is Eva Katherine, she was born at 2.21am today and weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz whcih is quite a lot for someone little like Hol.

We're at home and having gone straight through the night, Hol's gone to bed. She really is an incredible woman (unassisted back to back on gas and air! for those who know what that means)

Just 3 more days...

...until the baby is due. Of course when it arrives is quite another matter!

The house has been transformed and everything is done.

Neither of us can quite believe just how much we've done in the last 4 months, but we're really pleased with the result.

So we're just waiting. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is out tommorrow so that will add a bit if distraction until the time comes, and then it will be all systems go. I'm pleased to say that I feel really ready for the baby to arrive (Hol certainly is!) all we need now is some names...

8 and +32 -8

The 8 is how many days until both my Brother and my Father get baptised (!) How cool is that! Though I won't mention the implications of Catholics being baptised into anything other than the Catholic church...;0)

The other numbers are an update to baby due-ness! We've converted the garage, painted about 350m2 of wall and ceilings, redesigned the main parts of the house, moved Elle's bedroom, reinstated the nursery and have only to have the new flooring fitted (next week) and the new sofa's delivered (the week after.)

It all feels a bit like being prepared. I can't wait though. Bring it on!

Elle's excited too, which is great, as she's going to want to be really involved with the new baby. I'm practicing phrases such as "No Elle, you can't give the baby a bathon your own!" in preparation!

20 Week Scan

Just like Craig and Hannah, we had our 20 week scan this week.

All is well, and I don't know if we're just getting better at looking at grainy black and white ultrasound pics, but it was so clear.

You can always see more in the 20 week scan than the dating scan, but this was something else. We saw detail and movement that we didn't see with Elle.

It may have helped that the woman doing the scan had 'Superintendent' on her badge, but we got to see the baby's face! She was looking at the baby's mouth (for a cleft pallet) and baby was not playing ball at first, so she used a different angle and caught the whole of the baby's face which was incedible as it had it's eye's open!

I was quite emotional afterwards, and I'm really looking forward to baby arriving in the outside world!
