Now is the Winter of our Discontent 2

A great series of posts from Andy on Christmas this year:

The Spirit(s) of Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas Past - Christmas Presents

The Spirit of Christmas Present - God's Present

The Spirit of Christmas Future - Christmas Presence

Pretty sure Vernon Kay didn't come up with the phrase "Jesus is the reason for the season" but I do think if we can grasp, and act like we've grasped, the idea of presence rather than presents, or even presence AND presents then we will truely be able to Celebrate Christmas.

  1. Ole Vern may not have said that originally, but when you're in the middle of writing, someone turns up on your doorstep, gives you that phrase (which he's just heard on the radio) and leaves again...

  2. That is the opening line of Shakespeare's Richard III...
... also the title of STEINBECK's book, New York: Viking Press, 1961.
